The accused constable, Milind Salve, attached with the Marol police station in the arms department, is at large.

Hate’s pension was stuck and Salve promised that he would help him as he has contacts in Delhi and Sonia Gandhi’s office. He asked for Rs 5.4 lakh to help Hate.

Hate said, “The constable arranged for a conference call with an official from Gandhi’s office. When I found out that he was cheating me, I registered a complaint.”
