In a statement issued on Thursday evening, the university said that the examination would continue as per the schedule. It also mentioned that the matter is being investigated to find out whether it's a case of paper leak or not. "A total of 32 examinations were scheduled for the morning session on Thursday. The incident happened during the 'E Commerce and Digital Marketing' paper of the BMS semester V examination. A girl was caught with a mobile phone inside the exam hall. On checking, a photo of today's question paper was found in her phone. After the university came to know about it, the college was asked to register a complaint in the matter. A committee was also sent to the college," read the statement issued by MU.
A senior MU official said, "Question papers are sent to colleges online. Once a particular college downloads a paper, it immediately puts its name on it. This way we can find out which college printed the question paper." Paramjit Dahiya, deputy commissioner of police, zone IX, said, "A case has been registered at Amboli police station under sections 5, 6, and 8 of The Maharashtra Prevention Of Malpractices At University, Board And Other Specified Examinations Act, 1982 and Sec 66(d) of IT Act."
