There is good news for students of final year of Bachelor of Arts in Mumbai with the university changing their timetable to make sure their examinations don't extend for months.

According to the statement issued by the varsity, "Students who go for single major in their TYBA exam will have their 6 papers on 6 days at a stretch, as per the timetable. Students who go for double major in their TYBA will have their first specialized course on the first three days of the exam and the second specialized course will be scheduled on the last three days as per the alphabetical order. For example, if a student has chosen Marathi subject as a single major, students will have their six papers in Marathi six days in a row. But if a student has chosen Marathi and History as the double majors, since ‘H’ comes before ‘M’, the student will have History Papers on first three days of the exams and 3 papers of Marathi will be on last three days of exams.

Leeladhar Bansod, Public Relations Officer of the Mumbai University said, "The examination section has taken this decision in order to ensure fast results. For third year of Bachelor of Arts MU offers 45 subjects and around 25000 students appear for those. This examination used to take almost two moths to implement with huge gaps in between two papers. But now the timetable is being modified. The aim is to finish examination in maximum 9 days. While major subject to which are opted for by many will be scheduling the first week. And the buffer time is kept for those subjects which is not opted for by many students. The hall tickets issued by MU will have detailed timetable for the student as per his/her subject choices. Moreover, we will also be taking workshops of college principals or Arts department heads in order to clear all doubts."
