Mumbai University's (MU) assessment chaos has reached its peak. The Bachelor of Science (BSc) results revealed on Monday have left students shocked as many have received the message 'result announced later'.
Depressed students are now running to their respective colleges in panic to know what has happened. Prof. Ravi Mishra from Bhavan's College, said, "Some students are approaching us with such issues. We are just telling them to wait until they get the marksheet because there could be some technical error."
Another professor said, "We have also received such queries from students and hence, we have put a query to MU. We hope then there will be some clarity when MU sends detailed PDFs to colleges with marks of each student."
Vinayak Dalvie, officer on special duty for evaluation at MU, he said, "This is not new as every year, some results are withheld due to some technical issues. This year, there could be one more possibility of a student's paper having gone in another stream's basket during scanning in the on-screen marking process. But in that case, it will be kept as an exception and will soon be identified. Such results will be sorted in the next seven to eight days."
From a total of 477 exams, results for only 183 were declared until Tuesday. MU now claims it will take until August 15 to declare all results. 2,98,213 answer sheets remain uncorrected.
