Andheri Skywalk
There’s a hole in the sky(walk)

“Fortunately, no one was injured as the piece of the skywalk fell when there wasn’t much crowd. Usually autorickshaws and buses halt at that spot, and so there are generally many people there,” says Ram Singh, a paanwallah who has a shop nearby and saw the skywalk bodywork fall. It was just luck, we guess but people may not be so lucky next time. Hope there isn’t a “next time”!
Where’s the signal?
While crossing the Eastern Express Highway near the Bhandup pumping station, on the Mulund-Airoli road, motorists may well be stumped to figure out when to stop.

Or whether they should stop at all. Because the traffic signal at that point is almost completely obscured by trees. Not only can drivers not see whether the light is green, red or amber, they can’t see the signal at all.
Other trees in the area have been trimmed and cleared for footpath construction, but the authorities seem to have forgotten about this signal. But surely they need to use it too or does the other traffic stop automatically for them to pass?
Creature comfort
Call it pet pooja. Or more correctly, blessing of pets. Fr Joe D’Souza will hold a blessing of pets to honour St Francis of Assisi, who is the patron saint of animals and the environment. All pets like the more common dogs and cats, and not so common rabbits, turtles, lovebirds, parrots, bul-buls will be blessed.
Pets can be as loving as close relatives
So, those who seek blessings for their pets, make your way to Sacred Heart Church, S V Road, Santa Cruz (W), near Khar police station on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at 11.15 am on the ground floor, primary school hall.
