WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) Diploma holder and recipient of the Geoffrey Roberts Award, Peter Csizmadia-Honigh is set to unveil his book, The Wines of India, a Concise Guide on October 29. Csizmadia-Honigh will be the first international personality to write a fully illustrated and authoritative companion to Indian wines.

This bit of news is bound to please the Art Deco lover in the city. Head to Kitabkhana at Fort or the Art and Design Workshop to pick a set of 20 prints of the Oval Maidan Art Deco facades and their details in a portfolio filled with information and vintage images.

These attractive prints have been published by Sir JJ College of Architecture and the Urban Design Research Institute (UDRI) jointly. Back in July-August, the architecture school had held an exhibition of recreated drawings of Art Deco buildings by the Oval Maidan, created by its students.
Make time for Thithi
After winning two top awards at Locarno Film Festival this year, Raam Reddy’s debut feature, Thithi, is set for its Asian Premiere at Mumbai Film Festival 2015, which kicks off next week.

The Kannada film is the lone feature from India to be selected in the International Category at the festival. In addition to accolades, Thithi has backing of renowned production house, Sunmin Park of Maxmedia, Los Angeles.
Debutant director, Raam Reddy
The dramatic comedy revolves around the death of Century Gowda, a crabby 101-year-old man, and follows the exploits of his elderly bearded son, Gadappa; his materialistic middle-aged grandson, Thamanna, and his confident pubescent great grandson, Abhi, up until Century Gowda’s “thithi” (Kannada: final funeral) memorial held 11 days after the death.
The film comprises a cast of non-professional actors, who are mostly farmers from the area, along with a young crew that includes collaborators from Holland, USA, FTII graduates and locals.
