Milind Soman gets into Pattaya mode
Milind 'The Ironman' Soman, model, entrepreneur and actor, is in Bangkok for the Pattaya Marathon. Soman who is the name and face of the Pinkathon, which is known as a long distance run to promote women's health, is in the Thai city with Pinkathon winners who will participate in the marathon. The Shivaji Park resident created quite a stir at the Bangkok airport as many Indian tourists were taken by surprise.

"Milind! Milind!" they were heard whispering as they nudged each other on spotting the hunky athlete. Sporting a grey tee, the Pinkathon ambassador smiled at all the adulation. Milind has a British passport so he didn't need a visa to enter Thailand. When this diarist asked why he didn't need a visa, he replied cheekily, "Maybe because I am cute? Ha, ha." Can't argue with that one, Milind.

Smiley face, please!
The time when there were no emoticons or emojis to express our feelings in the digital world, seems like a long time ago. For the uninitiated, this Sunday happens to be #WorldEmojiDay, and to kick off the celebrations, a fun survey looked at how emojis are used on Twitter, everyday.

Smiley face

The study revealed that the top three emojis used in India are the namaste emoji, the Perfect emoji and the thumbs up. This is followed by emojis for joy, heart eyes, clap, kissing heart, blush, dancer and fire. The data also reveals fun facts about how emojis are tweeted. For example, people tweet more beer than coffee emojis emojis.

Twitter has a favourite too — more full heart emojis are tweeted (3.5 times more than broken heart emojis) than the rest. The social media platform also has a special emoji, a celebratory party cap that has been created for the occasion.

Mum and I
Mother-daughter frames evoke a charm unlike none other. And this frame, with the ageless Dimple Kapadia and daughter Twinkle Khanna brought a smile to our face.

The beauties had shutterbugs in a tizzy when they dropped by for the launch of a new fashion jewellery label at the friends' Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla's chic outpost in Apollo Bunder.

Run for cover, shall we?
Is it a plane, is it a bird? Nope, it is our yoga poster boy Baba Ramdev. If not a poster, then certainly a cover — that of a national news magazine. Adorning it, he stares back in anger, or in humour, it's unclear but he certainly looks back in a way not every mortal can — from between his legs. And social media can't have enough of it.

In one depiction he is seen flying like a plane and in a few others, he is seen floating in space. After being posted on Facebook, there were multiple cries of "How can we un-see this?" and "Scarred for life." While a few witty folk launched this pictorial missile with the sly disclaimer, "Why should I suffer alone?" We were tempted to as well but spared you the ordeal.

Shipra's sinful secrets
Desserts will never go out of fashion, nor will books on them. The latest book that sweet toothed can add to their shelves is chef and TV host Shipra Khanna's Sinfully Yours (Westland).

It features a range of recipes, from classics that her mother and grandmother taught her, to sweets that she experimented with in college, the desserts that keep her kids happy, the mousse with which she won her first apron on the reality cooking show and finally, the mascarpone that bagged her the winning title.
