A special court yesterday allowed NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal to visit JJ hospital for getting done the three tests the hospital had suggested that he do. Bhujbal is likely to be admitted tomorrow for undergoing one of those tests. Jail officials said Bhujbal had complained of fever with symptoms of dengue, and hence, was admitted to JJ hospital on September 17. He was discharged only in the second week of October after a heart condition he had was detected.
Three-fold check-up
At the time of his discharge, JJ hospital dean Dr. TP Lahane had said that Bhujbal needs to undergo the Holter examination, a thallium scan and an electrophysiology evaluation. The prison authorities had then written to JJ hospital to name the hospitals where these tests could be conducted.
The special PMLA court hearing Bhujbal’s case then gave the order allowing Bhujbal to be treated soon. The judge, in his order, said Bhujbal should be taken to JJ hospital for the electrophysiology evaluation, for the Holster examination, a machine should be brought from KEM hospital and test should be conducted, and JJ hospital should refer Bhujbal to a private hospital for the thallium scan.
Bhujbal’s advocate RB Mokashi told mid-day that the former minister is likely to be taken to JJ hospital on Saturday.
