Mumbai: Minister assures action against Sunshine Builders on SRA project

Minister of State for Housing, Ravindra Waikar today said that criminal action will be taken against Sunshine Builders and Developers and its architects within a month for submitting false documents to seek NOC of an SRA building at suburban Andheri.

"Legal action would be taken against the developer and its architects for submitting false documents. The developer has submitted false certificate to the Airport authority," Waikar announced in the Maharashtra Legislative Council.

The reply came after Deputy Chairman of the House Vasant Davkhare asked the government to take strict action against such developers and prevent their other works also so that such practices are not followed repeatedly.

The issue was raised by NCP MLC Prakash Binsale who questioned why no action had been taken against the builder despite cheating.

Leader of Opposition, Dhananjay Munde asked why action was not taken on SRA and police officials who helped the builder. He demanded immediate action against the errant builder as the illegal building could be another Campa Cola in the offing.
