In a strange case of two different deliveries, a man desperate for money to pay for his pregnant wife’s delivery agreed to be a delivery boy for a pistol but landed behind bars in the process. The 27-year-old was arrested by the MIDC police in Andheri on Saturday night under the Arms Act. The accused told cops that he committed the crime as he desperately needed the money to pay for the delivery. But when produced before the judge in court, he complained about physical torture by cops before arrest.

An official from MIDC police station said, “The accused Mosim Mansoor Salem was booked under the Arms Act. We recovered one desi pistol and four live rounds from him. The court has remanded him in police custody till July 19.” Police said Salem has not revealed where he got the pistol from and to whom he was going to deliver it.
Salem stays with his wife in Bandra East and she is due to deliver this month.
Cops said that Salem was desperate for money. He was told that he could make quick money by delivering a pistol to someone.
The cops from MIDC police station got a tip-off and managed to arrest Salem before the pistol could be delivered.
When Salem was produced in the court, he said that the cops had beaten him up before arrest. The judge gave a warning to cops and remanded Salem in police custody till 19.
The police will now investigate how the accused got the pistol and where he was going to sell it.
