“Tum sab ko dekh loonga.” The veiled threat was hurled by Gurgaon PSI Pradyuman Yadav outside the metropolitan magistrate court yesterday at the family of Haryana gangster Sandeep Gadoli.

The PSI was being escorted to the police car after a hearing on extension of his custody when he spotted Gadoli's sisters — Kuldeep Gadoli and Sudesh Kataria — outside and turned aggressive. He even tried to free himself from police’s grip inside the car to lunge at the siblings. Unruffled by the threat, the sisters retorted: “Koi baat nahin. Dekh lena. Maar dena humein (Sure, go ahead. Kill us).”

The police refused to let Yadav say anymore and drove him away.

Yadav had led a team of five policemen that killed Gadoli in an alleged fake encounter in a Mumbai hotel in February and was arrested in Delhi this Tuesday by a Mumbai Police SIT on murder charges.

At the hearing, the SIT sought Yadav’s “maximum custody”. Advocate Tanveer Nizam, who is representing the Gadoli family, was against it, and asked that the SIT take Yadav back to Gurgaon and investigate the chain of crime. Magistrate PH Karve extended Yadav's police custody till July 16.

It was when he was being escorted back that the PSI engaged in the skirmish.
