There is an end in sight to the illegal 'integrated coaching' tie-ups between colleges and coaching classes. Following protests by Yuva Sena on Monday outside his Charni Road office on the issue, the deputy director of education, BB Chavan, has assured that a warning will be put up for such colleges on the FYJC online admissions portal.

He made this assurance in a letter to Yuva Sena chief Aaditya Thackeray.

Ignoring racket
On Monday around 12 pm, more than 100 members of the Yuva Sena members protested outside Chavan's office demanding action against integrated coaching classes running in the city. The members even alleged that the department is not taking any action despite being aware about the ongoing, illegal racket.

"Integrated coaching classes are functioning freely without any regulations. It is the education department's duty to create awareness among parents about the pros and cons of such courses," said Sainath Durge, member, Yuva Sena.

CD of stings
Sena claims to have conducted a sting operation in three colleges that have such integrated courses. Durge added, "We have submitted a CD of the sting operation conducted in three colleges in Kandivli. These three colleges are openly running integrated courses and influencing parents and students to take admission in the college [they have a tie-up with], to get rid of the attendance issue and take admission in particular coaching classes for JEE and NEET preparation. We have also submitted the list of demands and name of 36 colleges and coaching classes that have this programme.

Chavan has agreed to Yuva Sena's demands and will be upgrading the FYJC admissions website to display a warning against such colleges on the portal.
