Mumbai: BMW killer walks out on bail

According to police sources, inquiries have revealed that at the time of the accident, three of Vijan’s friends were also in the car as they were returning home from college. After the incident, all four were in shock and they called other friends for help. Four or five of those friends then went to the spot and rushed the injured to Siddharth Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

After the Bangur Nagar police received information, they reached the spot and took both Vijan and his car into custody. After conducting the requisite medical checkup on Vijan at Siddharth Hospital, they booked him.

Meanwhile, there is confusion over the identity of the scrap collector. One person, who had filed a missing person’s report on August 4 about his friend identified the body, but other members of his family say it is not
the same person. To clear the confusion, a close cousin of the missing person is now on his way to confirm the identity.

Police says
“The accused has been released on bail. The body of the deceased is yet to be identified. We are checking the missing person’s records and also enquiring in and around the area where the mishap occurred,” said a police officer from the Bangur Nagar police station.
