According to the sources the incident took place between 12.30 to 3 pm when the woman was home alone. Her husband Sameer, 19-year-old daughter Suman and 14-year-old son Manish had gone to a temple on the occasion of Mahashivratri.

On their return home, they found the door of the flat closed. Since he did not have the keys with him he called a duplicate keymaker, who was able to create a duplicate key and then opened the flat and entered inside, only to find the bedroom locked, After managing to open the door, they found her hanging from the ceiling fan.

According to police sources, the reason couldn't be established yet. Preliminary enquiries have revealed that, she was worried about her children's studies. Her daughter currently a first year college student had failed class 9 twice. Her son too isn't keen on studying and she was worried for their future as a result. This would lead to constant quarrels in the house. The deceased's husband works as a jeweller.

"No suicide note was found. The brother of the deceased has been informed. We have registered a Accidental Death Report (ADR) and further probe is on," said SPI Mukund Pawar of Kandivali Police station.
