The Kashimira Police arrested two men who allegedly raped their cousin sister repeatedly, for close to a year. The duo had kept the 17-year-old victim locked in their second-floor apartment at Mira Road since February.

Ever since they learnt that she was having a relationship with a boy, they decided to have their way with her. Since the minor’s parents passed away, she had been living with her cousins, aged 25 and 32.

The survivor said that they had raped her several times since February, and would keep her locked up in the flat to prevent her from escaping. Yesterday, in desperation, she began shouting from the window to draw the attention of passers-by. She then threw down a letter, pleading for help.

SOS
“My two brothers have raped me many times at home, and they keep me locked in the room. Please help me; rescue me from them. Someone please inform the police,” read the note, written in Hindi, which is now with the police.

One of the local residents read the letter and informed the cops, who rushed to the spot and rescued her after breaking the lock on the door. Senior Inspector Anil Kadam of Kashimira police station said, “The survivor was raped by her uncle’s two sons. Her father had died last year, and since then she had been living with her cousins.

She was having a relationship with someone, and when her cousin brothers found out, they raped her. Both the accused raped her several times at home and kept her locked there most of the time. They also threatened to defame her.”

The accused duo were arrested and booked under IPC Sections 34 (common intention), 376 (rape) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
