Maria threatens to quit over 26/11 allegations

Rakesh Maria, Joint Commissioner of police has threatened to resign over allegations made against the police force by Vinita Kamte, the widow of additional police commissioner Ashok Kamte, one of the slain heroes of 26/11 terror attacks.

Rakesh Maria, Joint Commissioner of police has threatened to resign over allegations made against the police force by Vinita Kamte, the widow of additional police commissioner Ashok Kamte, one of the slain heroes of 26/11 terror attacks.


Maria sent a letter to the Home Ministry over the allegations and is scheduled to meet the state home minister RR Patil today.The Joint Commisisioner wants the state to clear his nameu00a0from the allegations made by Ashok Kamte's widow, said media reports.


Vinita Kamte, in her book 'To The Last Bullet' accused Maria of mishandling 26/11 operations.


Vinita blamed Maria of attempting to suppress crucial details of the sequence of events that led to the death of Mumbai's top three cops, including her husband Ashok Kamte.
