Former Bollywood actress Mamta Kulkarni, who is allegedly involved in and is one of the accused in the Rs 2,000-cr drug haul case, claimed she is innocent and has been framed by the Thane police, in a video conference call from Kenya.
In the call at a five star in Bandra, Kulkarni said, "Being a yogini, I had given up everything and I don't have desire for anything. Due to some pressure, Thane police are hell bent on implicating me without any evidence."
Advocate Majeed Memon said the Thane police have created a highly exaggerated figure of Rs 2,000-crore drug haul without any basis, substance or material on record.
Param Bir Singh, Commissioner of Police, Thane said, "We are strictly going through the procedure and are relying on evidence."
