As a result of the length of the 800-km project, the different consultants will give the DPR in packages; it is being said that the construction may also be done similarly
The government does not want the Mumbai-Nagpur Communication Super Expressway project to get delayed and so the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), which is the implementation agency for the 800-km long project, will appoint international consultants who will prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) in five different packages.

It is also being said that seeing the length of the project, its construction would also be done in packages. MSRDC Chief R Mopalwar said, “The 800-km long communication super expressway will be the biggest expressway of our country and we are in talks with international consultants who will prepare the DPR in five packages."
When questioned if its construction would also be done in packages, a senior official said, “It is too early to comment about the same, but looking at its length, most likely the work will have to be done in packages.”
MSRDC has now invited tenders for the appointment of consultants for preparing the detailed project report. Few weeks back the project was cleared by the Chief Minister headed cabinet sub-committee on infrastructure. A senior MSRDC official said, “Making a single DPR for an 800 km long project is not an easy task, as no consultant has such a large manpower and so it will be made in five packages."
It should be noted that at the end of July, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had made an announcement that 800-km long communication super expressway linking Mumbai to Nagpur will be constructed so that the region and districts where the road passes will be developed.
The areas that will benefit from this project would be Vidarbha, Marathwada and northern Maharashtra and this mega project, once complete, will help reach Nagpur from Mumbai in just 10 hours. While the six lane project will be undertaken with the help of the state government and Union Highway and Surface Transport Ministry, the implementing agency for the project will be MSRDC. The government claims that the project is expected to be ready by 2019.
