Maharashtra Navnirman Sena is all set to give competition to your colony's doodhwala bhaiyya. The party with the anti-north Indian agenda is soon to launch their own drink 'Mumbai Milk: Swaad Maharashtracha' to loosen the grip of migrants on the business.

The milk product was soft-launched at a recent exhibition organised in Thane that lasted for seven days and concluded on December 9. Party workers said the milk would be available in the market on a large scale as soon as details of the distribution model are worked out.
Rajan Gavand, general secretary of Rojgar Nidhi, the employment wing of MNS, confirmed the news and said, "Yes, we are launching the product soon. It will be distributed across the city. Pure milk would be made available without any adulteration. This initiative is part of our employment scheme for locals."
The enterprise comes after the 2008 regional conflict authored by MNS, when the party president had urged the Marathi manoos to gear up and take up the profession dominated in the city by migrants.
Rs 30-40 per litre
The packaged milk is going to be made available at the rate of Rs 30 per litre for cow milk and Rs 40 per litre for buffalo milk, the prevailing market rate.
Gavand said, "We have been active for a long time. We have a 1,200 sq ft office in Thane from where we operate. All this is done with the motive of providing employment to sons of the soil across the state."
If party insiders are to be believed, then Mumbai Milk is going to have a larger impact than the other milk products. "We are going to purchase the milk directly from farmers and sell it in the retail market via various women's groups. So the chances of adulteration are negligent. We have even set up a plant and things have been finalised. The milk is just to be distributed now," said a senior party functionary.
'To end monopoly'
Ram Kadam, party leader present at the exhibition, said, "This it to bring the monopoly of a particular political class in the milk industry to a halt. We will give milk at reasonable prices. The initiative will give employment to the locals, which is our prime agenda, apart from destroying the monopoly." In further bad news for migrants, the MNS is also trying to get a foothold in other businesses, which have long been a stronghold of migrants in the city.
