I still feel Pratyusha is alive: Rahul Raj Singh tells police

Rahul Raj Singh, who was booked for abetment of suicide of television actress and girlfriend Pratyusha Banerjee, told Bangur Nagar police that he is unable to believe that she is dead.

"I still feel that Pratyusha is alive and has gone to meet her friend. I always feel that she will call me, but whenever I visit police station and the way cops are interrogating me, I have to accept that she is no more," said Rahul.

Rahul has been booked for abetment of suicide, criminal intimidation and voluntary causing hurt. He has got interim bail till April 18 from the Bombay High Court but till then he will have to appear before Bangur Nagar police station every day between 11am to 1pm till April 18 for further investigations.

Rahul feels that Pratyusha's parents have been influenced to believe that he is the reason for Pratyusha's death. "I know that many people are backbiting against me and misguiding Pratyusha's parents which is why they are making allegations and have filed the complaint." (Read more)

He added, "Why did her parents wait for so many days after Pratyusha's death to lodge an FIR? They were under influence but as far as I am concerned, I know that Pratyusha has taken loans from various banks which has come out in police investigation too. Whatever allegations have been made against me are fake and baseless which I will prove in the court."

"Many of Pratyusha's colleagues have come forward in her support after her death, but all of them have suddenly disappeared. Why are those people hiding their faces and not coming forward to support her now," he blasted. (Read more)

When a journalist asked him about the Pratyusha's pregnancy, Rahul denied it and also denied abortion. He said, "Why is everyone quoting sources? If the doctor has confirmed her pregnancy and abortion, why not reveal his name then? As I said earlier, I am innocent and I will prove it in the court."

TV actress Pratyusha (of Balika Vadhu fame) was found hanging in the Goregaon apartment where she lived with Rahul.
