It's a well-known fact that if it wasn't for the staff of the Taj, Trident and Oberoi hotels several more people would've died during the 26/11 attacks.

They were unimaginably brave even though they weren't trained to handle such situations.

To ensure that hotel staff is better prepared, the Ad-hoc Board of Study in Hospitality has decided to forward a proposal to introduce a tackling terrorism subject in the hotel management course to the Mumbai University.

"We haven't decided the details of the subject, but it will thoroughly teach a student about battling terrorists.

We'll take the help of experts in designing the syllabus," said Sanyogita Morarji, chairman of the board.

Currently, students only learn about first aid and how to handle a fire emergency.

Harish Suvarna, principal, Anjuman-I-Islam's College of Hotel & Tourism Management Studies & Research, said, "Other colleges too are happy about this development."
