High profile Mumbai wedding planner held for drug possession at Abu Dhabi

Mumbai-based Aditya Motwane, known for planning some of the most high profile and extavagant weddings was arrested on August 8 for drug possession at the Abu Dhabi International Airport

Mumbai-based Aditya Motwane, known for planning some of the most high profile and extavagant weddings was arrested on August 8 for drug possession at the Abu Dhabi International Airport. Motwane is currently in prison.


Airport security intercepted Aditya Motwane under suspicion of drug possession. A small quantity of drugs was discovered with him after his belongings were checked.


According to NDTV, he has undergone blood tests and will be allowed to consult a lawyer in the matter.

Aditya Motwane runs one of the most well-known wedding planning businesses in Mumbai most notably the wedding of Salman Khan's sister Arpita and Aayush Sharma, Jindal-Jasani wedding and Hinduja-Mahtani wedding among many others.

Currently in the UAE due to a new law that was passed, drug abuse and smuggling is no longer considered a felony and includes a rehab stint, fines, and community service. The earlier punishment was a four-year prison term for first-time offenders.
