The special MCOCA court in Arthur Road, on Monday, adjourned the hearing in the J Dey murder case till November 17. The court has recorded statements of five witnesses so far.


Dey, who was Editor (Investigations) of mid-day, was shot dead in Powai on June 11, 2011, when he was on his way home on his motorcycle.

In December the same year, the police had filed a 3,055-page chargesheet against 10 accused. A supplementary chargesheet, running into 120-odd pages against journalist Jigna Vora, one of the accused, was filed in June 2012.

All 10 arrested accused Anil Waghmode, Abhijeet Shinde, Arun Dake, Sachin Gaikwad, Nilesh Shendge, Mangesh Agawane, Satish Kalya, Deepak Sisodia, Paulson Joseph and Vora were present in court.

Vinod Asrani, the 11th accused in the case, had died of liver cirrhosis in April this year.
