The incident occurred after Ansari came out of the school premises after taking his mathematics exam at 1.30 pm.u00a0 "All I asked the boys was why they were ganging up on that one schoolmate. I didn't even know what the fight was about.
The MRA Marg police, who managed to nab two of the assaulters, registered a non-cognizable report under section 323 (grievous injuries) against the group.
A police official from MRA Marg said, "It's a minor matter, a small fight. We have warned them and have informed their parents." Raj Aloni, principal of JJ Fort Boys' School, is not satisfied with the police action. "I don't know why the fight happened, but an innocent student from my school was beaten up for no reason.
He takes his last exam tomorrow. This happened because there were no policemen at my centre in the morning. When I called up the police station, they sent one constable for the 575 students in our centre. I am appalled by the incident," Aloni said.
