The Mlavani police on Sunday arrested four youths for chain snatching and robbery in Juhu and Bandra. The accused were produced in the Borivali metropolitan court on Monday morning.

The Mlavani police on Sunday arrested four youths for chain snatching and robbery in Juhu and Bandra. The accused were produced in the Borivali metropolitan court on Monday morning.


Senior police inspector of Malvani police station J Hargude said that the boys, aged 20 u2013 25 were residents of Bandra and Andheri and came from 'well off' families.


"They certainly were not in need of the cash and were blowing up the money for good lifestyle. They operated on motorbikes and targeted single and elderly women who they would encounter when they were getting out of rickshaws or walking by the road. We are on the lookout for other members of the biker gang and the bikes they operated on," said Hargude.


According to Hargude, the gang had been carrying out robberies over the last two months.
