The Boisar police arrested a 29-year-old ST bus driver for allegedly killing one and injuring three, while driving under the influence of alcohol, and thus losing control of his vehicle.
Mumbai Mirror reported that the accused, Rahul Kamble was driving an empty bus from Dahanu to Palghar. He lost control of the bus, and knocked down two pedestrians. After this, the bus crashed into a hut, injuring a child and killing his 59-year-old grandmother.

According to cops, Kamble was drunk. While the child and one other person escaped with scratches, a pedestrian had to be admitted to hospital for first aid. The deceased has been identified as Sindhu Waykole. Mirror reported that the victim’s family has been given Rs 10,000 for emergency assistance.

“We will take department action against Kamble and we are forwarding a report demanding his dismissal from our service,” Dahanu depot manager Manjiri Behere told Mirror.
