The state's road development body doesn't seem very keen on sharing the reflected glory of its much-vaunted creation, the Bandra-Worli Sea Link.
Taking a serious note of the way in which pictures and videos of the iconic bridge are being used by various web portals, the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), which built the 4.7 km bridge, has decided to patent the intellectual property related to it.
The formalities are expected to be completed by May. MSRDC vice-chairman and managing director Vipin Sreemali said, "We took the decision to secure the patent because we noticed that many private companies were using BWSL pictures on their websites without seeking permission from us."
"The personal usage of photographs and diagrams of the sea link can be permitted. But corporate houses and companies cannot use the pictures for free."
