Speaking at a party workers' convention, in which Ashish Shelar was given yet another term as president of Mumbai BJP, the CM gave ample indication that the party will go solo in the BMC polls and not join hands with the Shiv Sena, which it wants out of power. He set development as an agenda for the polls, narrating how his government was doing better in getting 15-year-old infrastructure projects rolling. He also promised affordable housing in Mumbai.

Earlier, BJP leaders and workers at the event proposed that the party win 114 plus seats in the BMC. This is seen as a veiled warning to the Sena, which has been at loggerheads with the BJP, since the past two years.
