Cops injured in road accidents

Two policemen were injured in separate incidents in Kandivali on Wednesday. Constable S.T Pawar(38) was going home on his motorbike after work at about 8.30 pm on Wednesday when a four-wheeler rammed into him from behind. The impact was so severe that Pawar fell on the windshield of the car.


Pawar was admitted at a nearby nursing home with a fractured hand and injuries to his leg, elbow and ankle. The accused has been nabbed, said the police.


In another incident, sub-inspector Chandrakant Kadam of Samta Nagar police station was injured when a Mitsubishi Lancer hit him. Kadam was buying vegetables when the Lancer came from the wrong side of the road and hit Kadam.


Kadam was taken to Shri Sai Hospital in Kandivali and later shifted to Bhagwati Hospital. He sustained injuries on his face, lips, jaws and head. The accused also sustained injuries and is admitted at Sai Hospital.
