The Global Citizen India festival turned out to be a colourful one — both in talk shared by festival goers and the outfits celebrities wore on stage. Sonakshi Sinha wore a military green outfit, and carried a voice we couldn't believe was hers.
She was followed by Ananya Birla, who stayed true to her recently released single, and had auto tune for company. Host for a bit, Parineeti Chopra looked chic in a short shirt dress and knee high boots, but the winner again was Sonam Kapoor — red dress and cat eye glasses.
She even screamed at the crowd when they weren't listening to her. We were in two minds about Demi Lovato's gold number, but her tight performance didn't leave much to complain about.

Off stage, Mumbaikars grabbed the chance to dress as if they were in Goa, and festival chic style ruled. They wore shorts, and crop tops, while the 30 year-olds stuck to denims. But young or old, talk at the venue was all about how India had never seen anything of this scale before. No wonder so many dads had accompanied their daughters, and danced along when Jay-Z rapped, in a trademark black tee and cap.
Apart from the biggies, we spotted television actors Mandira Bedi and Karan Tacker, and musician Uday Benegal, who was heard getting impressed by a young bass player in AR Rahman's band.
And then came Chris Martin in a blue tee and jeans. Hardly concert fashion but who cared. He made everyone sing again and again (by the way, his piano wore the India flag). Oh Coldplay, come again.
