Agripada police have arrested Zulfikar Shaikh, the so-called owner of Hotel Sagar, situated on Nagpada junction in Agripada, for threatening the other shareholders of the hotel in an attempt to wrest ownership from them.
According to Agripada police, Shaikh's mother is a seven per cent shareholder at Hotel Sagar, while the rest is owned by other partners.

Shaikh has reportedly employed goons as securitymen and posted dogs outside the hotel premises, in order to scare the other 93 per cent share holders and prevent them from entering the hotel. According to complaints lodged by the shareholders, they have been unable to enter the hotel. Police swung into action and arrested Shaikh after a number of complaints were filed against him.

A police officer attached to Nagpada police station said on condition of anonymity, "We have arrested him for cheating, forgery and threatening the other partners of Hotel Sagar. We are looking out for the goons disguised as his securitymen, who used to threaten the owners."

A case of forgery has also been slapped against Shaikh for allegedly forging documents to grab Suttarwala Chawl, a prime property at Nagpada. According to the police, he had earlier been arrested by RAK Marg and Nagpada police station for the same offence. The Agripada police are now on the lookout for his associates with whom he forged the documents to transfer ownership of the chawl under his name.

Incidentally, Shaikh is the cousin of Umed Ur Rehman Ishrat, who is wanted for killing one bodyguard and injuring another in the attempted shooting at Ikbal Kaskar (brother of Dawood Ibrahim) earlier this month.
Two shooters, Indralal Khatri (28) and Bilal Mustafa Ali Sayyed (29) had pumped five bullets into Bael, who was standing at the main gate of Kaskar's building on May 17.
