"Precinct development activity will be permitted. I am willing to have larger consultations with stakeholders due to the opposition to the project. Our endeavour is to protect green spaces," Fadnavis said here.
The project will entail a large-scale felling of trees and the locals are opposed to it.
The Chief Minister also said that he expected the new development plan of Mumbai to be approved by year-end.
"It is not full and final. DP will be in public domain for suggestions, objections and later it will be discussed by a seven-member committee headed by standing committee chairman and then come to the state government," he said.
He had asked the civic body to work with the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests for uniform development control (DC) rules in Mumbai, he said.
The Chief Minister also said that Yashwantrao Chavan Academy of Development Administration (YASHADA) was preparing a draft legislation providing for housing for all, which will be published for suggestions soon.
"Consultations are on with all the government departments and after the draft is ready, it will be put up before the cabinet," he said.
The TDR (transfer of development rights) policy would also be put in public domain soon.
"Based on the suggestions and objections, we will take final call," he said.
