The Borivali Railway Police lodged first information report (FIR) against 13 men and 19 women for disrupting rail services at Borivali on February 4.

They filed a complaint against the protesters and put them behind bars when they approached the railway police to complain about the disrupted services.

These people have been booked under Section 143, 145, 147, 353 and 425 of Railway Act on charges of disrupting rail services, stopping government employees from doing their job and damaging property.

The mob rage resulted in damage of four metal detectors of Rs 10000 each (approx.).

A RPF officer from Borivali said, "The protestors have been put behind lock up at Bandra and will be produced at Borivali Court at 11 am."

Services on Western Railway were disrupted for more than four hours after the 9.10 am Churchgate local from Borivli got cancelled, and starting platform of another local was changed to platform no. 8, provoking thousands of commuters.

The police had to resort to lathi charge to end this rail roko drama.

Services between Borivali and Virar were also badly hit in the process and nearly 12-lakh commuters were affected. The passengers were irate by the fact that Virar-bound locals coming on platform number 1, 2 and 3 were jam-packed.

Western Railway CPRO said that trains were running late as overhead cables stolen near Malad station, were being replaced.
