The demolition started around 8 am in the morning with ward officer of H/west Vijay Kamble overseeing the works. About 35 MCGM staff, 40 labourers from outside, 6 breakers, generator set JCB equipment were used since ramp was a six-inch thick slab made of concrete.
mid-day had reported last week that the BMC gave the actor seven days to remove the ramp where he parks his vanity van, as it caused inconvenience to pedestrians and motorists in the area (‘BMC gives SRK a week to demolish ramp outside Mannat’, mid-day, February 6). The civic body’s decision came after MP Poonam Mahajan wrote to municipal commissioner Sitaram Kunte on the matter on January 29.
