Police officials said constable Dnyaneshwar Sanap, who was patrolling the area, saw a few people chasing a man and shouting ‘catch him’. When Sanap followed the man and nabbed him, it turned out that he was running away with a toddler.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that his name was Gundula Raju Ajaingaa (28) and he hailed from Malkapur in Andhra Pradesh.
“Kalpana, daughter of flower vendor Arun Waghela was playing outside her residence in Wadi Bunder, when the accused abducted her. Fortunately, the girl’s mother, Kajol, saw him running away with her daughter and ran after Ajaingaa,” a police officer from Dongri police station said. “The accused only understands Telegu, so we had to seek help from a translator to find out if he is involved in similar crimes in the city.” u00a0
