The much-hyped programme by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in Mumbai, titled 'Truth of JNU', scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, is in the midst of a controversy. As per late development on Monday, Mumbai University has denied permission to ABVP to conduct the programme on its Kalina campus.

While ABVP continues its campaign for the said event, the fact that it has been denied permission is likely to lead the city campus politics on the same road that of Pune. A similar activity in a Pune college last week had led to a situation where law and order on campuses was compromised.
Meanwhile, after knowing about the incident, Pundalik Nigade, senior police inspector of the BKC police station, under whose jurisdiction MU's Kalina campus is covered, said, "The university has yet not communicated it to us if they require special assistance in maintaining law and order. No student organisation has approached us for any permission.”
