28 new Covid-19 cases in Thane city; active tally at 307

With the addition of the latest cases on Friday, Thane currently has 307 active Covid-19 cases

As many as 28 new Covid-19 cases have been reported in Thane on September 16, taking its infection count to 1,96,457, as per data received by Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC).


With the addition of the latest cases on Friday, Thane currently has 307 active Covid-19 cases. The Covid-19 death toll in Thane remained unchanged at 2,159.



As per the bulletin, 66 Covid patients recovered, taking the total number of recoveries since the beginning in the city to 1,93,991. The recovery rate in the TMC area is 98.74 per cent.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra on Friday recorded 697 new Covid-19 cases and two fatalities, which took the tally to 81,14,309 and the toll to 1,48,304, according to the state health department.

The recovery count in Maharashtra rose by 984 in the last 24 hours and reached 79,61,282, leaving the state with an active caseload of 4,723.
