The accused, pretending to be a woman, contacted the MLA via Facebook on October 19 and claimed to be in trouble. The imposter asked for help and sought his phone number. The MLA shared his contact details and the next day, the accused shared a morphed video of the MLA and a woman, and demanded money.
Kudalkar, an MLA from Kurla, filed a complaint with the cyber police on October 23. The cops traced the accused Mousamdin Mohammed Khan to Rajasthan. “The Mumbai cyber police did an excellent investigation and nabbed the culprits in no time. I urge people to report such incidents to the cyber crime police,” said Kudalkar.
