Two properties belonging to the family members of fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim were sold off on Friday at an auction organised by the competent authority under the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Property) Act (SAFEMA), an official said, reported the PTI.

According to the news agency, a total of four properties, located at Mumbke village in Khed tehsil of coastal Ratnagiri district in Maharashtra, were available at the auction, but no bids were received for two of them.
The other two properties received four and three bidders, respectively, and a single person emerged as successful bidder for both of them, as per the PTI.
One property, agricultural land measuring 170.98 sqmt, received the highest bid of Rs 2.01 crore against the reserve price of Rs 15,440.
Another -- agricultural land measuring 1730 sqmt -- fetched the highest bid of Rs 3.28 lakh against the reserve price of Rs 1,56,270, the official added.
The name of the successful bidder was not disclosed, a PTI report said on Friday.
The auction took place at the Aayakar Bhavan in south Mumbai.
Dawood Ibrahim, a wanted accused in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, is believed to be living in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's ancestral properties including his childhood house in Maharashtra's Ratnagiri are set to be auctioned on Friday, reported the ANI.
The four properties--all agricultural land--owned by Ibrahim's family are located in Mumbake village. The properties have been placed for auction at a reserve price of Rs 19 lakh.
According to an official statement by SAFEMA, these properties take the form of agricultural land in Dawood Ibrahim's ancestral village, named Mumbake, at Khed in the Ratnagiri District of Maharashtra, as per the PTI.
"Several bids have been received, and the bidding process is scheduled to take place between 2:00 pm and 3:30 pm on January 5," a statement said.
Earlier in 2017 and in 2020, over 17 properties belonging to the underworld don were auctioned off by SAFEMA.
Dawood Ibrahim designated as a "Global Terrorist" by the United Nations under United Nations Security Resolution 1267 and also listed under the Fourth Schedule of the UAPA Act, 1967, runs an international terrorist network, namely D-Company.
