The Mulund Police arrested five persons for brutally killing a man and injuring another after an argument over payment for a chicken tandoori worth Rs 200. Police sources said the accused Imran Khan got into a fight with the deceased Akshay Narvekar and Akash Sable--both aged 30--at the Thane outlet of his shop.

The five persons arrested were identified as Imran Khan (27), Salim Khan (29), Farooq Bagwan (38), Naushad Bagwan (35) and Abdul Bagwan (40).

Imran Khan had two chicken shops--one in jurisdiction of Mulund police and one in Thane's Kisan Nagar

On April 28, Khan and Narvekar got into a fight over payment of the chicken tandoori the latter consumed.

"The deceased had paid for the food he and the injured person consumed at Khan's chicken shop but the latter thought payment was not done. This led to an argument. To avenge it, Imran asked both Akshay and Akash to visit the Mulund-branch of his eatery," said a police officer.

He added, ""Imran had planned to kill them; thus, called for his brother and three other associates. The five attacked Aksahy and Akash with a knife and rod. Akshay was seriously injured and later succumbed to his injuries; while Akash is injured and undergoing treatment."

The Mulund Police have filed a case under Sections 302 (murder), 307 and 120 (B) of Indian Penal Code and are conducting further investigation into the matter.
