The Gamdevi police in south Mumbai on Sunday said that it arrested a suspect for allegedly posting a minor girl's private photos on a fake social media account, an official said.

According to the police, the complainant came forward to register a complaint against the accused on July 22.
According to the FIR, the victim, who is a minor, had met the accused on Instagram. The Instagram handle mentioned the name as "Rocky." They chatted online and developed a good friendship with each other.
The accused allegedly took her photos without her consent under the pretext of having a conversation with her. He then allegedly posted some of her photos and audio clips on his fake Instagram handle, an official said.
Distressed, the girl approached the police station and registered a complaint. The police then came into action.
The police traced the IP address of the accused and realized that "Rocky" was his fake name.
"We realized that 'Rocky' was his fake name, but with a lot of effort, we could trace the IP address of the accused. We then got his phone number too. With the help of technology and inputs from reliable sources, we apprehended him from Ahmedabad," said a police officer.
The accused then confessed that he only handled the fake Instagram account.
According to the police, "The accused was arrested on August 5. He has also confessed that he has done the same thing with some other girls too. We have found some photos of another woman on his phone. We have seized his phone, and it has been sent for forensic analysis."
The accused has been identified as Hariom Gautam (21), and he has been booked under Section 354 (outrage of modesty) and under the relevant sections of the POCSO Act."
