The Dongri Police in Mumbai nabbed a man accused of making a hoax call to the police saying that terrorists and a woman had entered a dargah in Dongri area, the police said.

According to the police, he had made the call on February 14, claiming that terrorists and a woman had entered the Baba Dargah. The police had rushed to the spot and conducted an on-site investigation but found nothing suspicious, leading them to register an FIR against unknown individuals.
The police said, upon further investigating the matter, it was revealed that the hoax call originated from a public phone. Later, it was established that a person had entered a shop to make the call on February 14.
"We identified that the caller who had made the hoax call at around 11:30 am. We checked the CCTV footage in the nearby areas and found that a senior citizen had entered the shop. In the footage he was seen making the call," said an officer.
The police tracked down the man who was later identified as Bhagwan Bhapkar alias Nazarul Shaikh, 83, in Tagore Nagar area of Vikhroli, and subsequently arrested him.
He was booked under Section 182 (knowingly giving false information) and 507 (Criminal intimidation) of the IPC. However, he was later granted bail, official sources said.
