A 38-year-old lawyer was kidnapped from the Borivali court around 6 pm on Tuesday. The perpetrators, allegedly the lawyer's own clients, transported him to an isolated location near the Charkop area. The distressing situation came to light when the victim's fellow lawyers were alerted to the kidnapping.

Representatives of the Borivali Bar Association acted swiftly, seeking police assistance to secure the release of their colleague and pursue legal actions against the abductors. According to Advocate Surendra Landge, the secretary of the Borivali Bar Association, the lawyer was kidnapped from the Borivali court premises by his clients in the evening and moved to an isolated location in Charkop area.

The victim managed to make a distress call to his colleagues, revealing that the kidnappers were demanding a ransom of Rs 10,000 for his release. Subsequent investigations revealed that the lawyer had accepted cash from clients for the documentation of his ration card but had failed to deliver the promised documents. Allegedly, in retaliation, the clients opted for kidnapping as a means to reclaim their money, according to a Borivali police station officer.

Efforts by the Borivali police to communicated with the kidnappers for the lawyer's release have been successful.

Lawyer Amit Mishra said that the police successfully rescued the lawyer around 9 pm. Moreover, the law enforcement officers apprehended the kidnappers, who are currently being brought to the police station for further legal proceedings.
