Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan on Saturday recorded his statement with the Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) of the Mumbai Crime Branch in connection with a 2016 complaint related to fake emails being sent in his name to actress Kangana Ranaut. An official said that Roshan reached the office of the Commissioner of Police in South Mumbai at around 11.45 am. He left after two-and-a-half hours.

Roshan had filed a complaint in 2016, alleging that someone had sent emails to Ranaut from a fake email ID. His case was transferred to CIU after Roshan’s lawyer in December last year wrote to the Mumbai police reminding them that there has not been any progress in the case since 2016.
At that time, it was also alleged that Ranaut had sent mails to Roshan. A CIU official said, “Roshan has recorded his statement, and we are trying to find out which IP address did the emails originate from.”
