On Thursday, charred remains of an unidentified woman, aged between 30 and 40, were found near the Goods Vehicle Track at the Bombay Port Trust in Mumbai's Wadala. Authorities reported that the body had been dismembered into three pieces, with the torso and a part of the leg recovered, while another portion remains missing.

This incident came to light after the track patrolling vehicle of BPT spotted the body near Chindigali Wadala. The Wadala Police Station was immediately notified, leading to the recovery of the remains. Subsequently, the body was transferred to KEM Hospital for a postmortem analysis. The Wadala police have initiated the process of filing a murder case against an unknown perpetrator, intensifying their efforts to delve deeper into the matter.

Concurrently, the Mumbai Crime Branch has deployed multiple teams to investigate the case further. Senior officials, who confirmed this development, visited the site where the distressing discovery was made earlier this afternoon at approximately 3 pm. Authorities suspect that the woman might have been killed two days prior to the discovery of her remains. Further updates on this harrowing incident are anticipated as the investigation unfolds.
