A policeman suffered injuries after a rickshaw driver allegedly attacked him with a knife at Bhiwandi in Maharashtra's Thane district, following which the accused was arrested, an official said on Thursday. The incident occurred during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday, and the accused identified as Umer Munir Shaikh, 53, is a habitual offender, he said, adding that the injured policeman was undergoing treatment at a hospital. The injured policeman was admitted to a hospital with severe head injuries and is currently being treated, police said.
