The Bandra Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Friday allowed Shri Ambadas Jogdhankar, imprisoned in the Janhavi Kukreja murder case, to write his college exams online from jail. The magistrate observed that the 23-year-old accused be allowed to take the exams for his better future.

Jogdhankar is in the Semester VI for Bachelors of Science and has to appear for the mid-term exams. He has been lodged at Taloja jail since his arrest for allegedly killing Kukreja, 19, during a New Year Eve's party in Khar West.

Metropolitan Magistrate Jaydeo Y Ghule directed the Taloja jail superintendent to make necessary arrangements for Jogdhankar, so that there is no disturbance while he writes his exams.

Moved court on March 17

Jogdhankar, through his lawyer, had moved court on March 17, seeking permission to complete his education and appear for upcoming exams.

Exams will be conducted from 9.30 am to 10.30 am and 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm."

Vaswani said that he will file a bail application for Jogdhankar after the police file the charge sheet on April 2. "His spinal cord is dislocated and needs urgent treatment," he added.

Gajanan Kabdule of Khar police station told mid-day, "We received the order from Bandra court on Friday."

Exam time table

On March 30, Jogdhankar will appear for the Advanced Food Production exam in the morning and Advanced Food & Beverage Operations paper in the afternoon. On March 31, he will appear for the Front Office Management exam. On April 1, he will take the Accommodation Management exam. On April 5, he will take the Food and Beverages Management exam in the morning Facility Planning exam in the afternoon.

The Khar incident

On the night of December 31, Rahul Deshmukh was informed by party organiser Yash Ahuja about a girl found near the staircase on the ground floor. The party was arranged on the terrace where 14 people were present. Between 2 am and 2.15 am, the crowd gathered at Bhagwati Heights, on 14th road at Khar West. Officers rushed to the spot and found Kukreja with several head injuries. They rushed her to Bhabha Hospital where she was declared dead.
