In a major twist to the Khar murder case, blood test reports of all the guests at the New Year’s party, including the accused, have come back negative for alcohol and narcotic substances. They had initially claimed that they were drunk and did not remember anything from the night of December 31 when a 19-year-old student was found dead with multiple injuries.

“We have received an analytical report of blood that is negative. We had given the blood samples of everyone, including both the accused, the victim and others present in the party, to find out if they were under the influence of alcohol or any narcotic substance,” a senior police officer told mid-day.
Police were facing a lot of difficulty during the initial stage of the investigation as the accused were not speaking by claiming that they have no recollection of the party.
“We hope the police carry out a thorough investigation and make a water-tight case in the cold-blooded murder,” said victim’s lawyer Advocate Trivankumar Karnani.
The teen was found dead on the ground floor of Bhagwanti Heights past midnight. The Khar police had arrested two of her friends, Diya Padalkar and Shree Jogdhankar, for allegedly killing her after she saw them getting intimate.
“This was a very unfortunate incident, but we believe that these are innocent students arrested by the police. We believe that the court will find out the truth,” said Advocate Mahesh Vaswani, who is representing Jogdhankar.
