Sleuths of Maharashtra Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) have arrested a Bangladeshi national, who travelled abroad using an Indian passport.

The ATS found out that the Bangladeshi man had made a passport using fake documents, after which they began spying on him.

When he returned to India, he was arrested at the airport. The ATS is now probing his background.

The Bangladeshi national has been identified as Irshad Shahabuddin Shaikh, 33, who had travelled abroad from Delhi airport. Shaikh had gone to Sharjah and was arrested when he landed in Delhi.

The ATS produced him in court and stated, “Shaikh is a resident of Malipoda village in Noakhali district of Bangladesh.”  He will now be in the custody of the ATS till October 8.
