Officials of the Swargate police station yesterday arrested a 33-year-old woman, Sunita Waydande, for selling brown sugar in Indiranagar.
The police seized drugs worth Rs 25,000 from her. “We received information that Waydande would be coming to the area to sell the brown sugar and as per the tip-off, we laid a trap and arrested her while she was selling the contraband,” Police Inspector M P Dhere of the Swargate police station said.u00a0

He said the arrested suspect’s husband, Shrawan, was also supposed to come to the area to peddle drugs but managed to escape when he came to know that his wife had been arrested by the police.
The arrested woman was produced in court and remanded in police custody till Friday.u00a0
